Lancashire Police Open Day - Behind the Badge

3 – 4 October 2015

Have you ever wanted to know how the police respond to major incidents in the county, or been interested to see what training the police dogs receive? Would you like to learn some of the secrets behind Crime Scene Investigations? Well now is your chance.

A force open weekend will be held on Saturday 3 October and Sunday 4 October between 10am and 4pm at Police Headquarters in HuttonPreston. Lancashire Constabulary will open its doors to the people of Lancashire inviting them to take a look at what happens ‘behind the badge’.

The event is being funded by money seized from criminals in Lancashire and so is free to the public where they can ‘access to all areas’ to understand how crimes are investigated and see the work the force is doing to keep the communities of Lancashire safe.

On both days there will be plenty to see and do: police vehicles on display; learn about the work undertaken by the Police and Crime Commissioner; activities for children including fancy dress competition; find out how rural areas are being protected; police transport throughout the ages; see displays by police dogs and horses and watch live support unit displays.

There will also be exhibitions by Lancashire Fire and Rescue, North West Ambulance Service, Environment Agency, Army, G4S, Coastguard, Bay Search and Rescue, Bowland Trust Mountain Rescue and others.

Tickets are named and adults are likely to be asked for photo identification before admission to the event. Bags, prams, and persons may be subject to being searched prior to admission. All persons, including young children and babies, will require named tickets.
